Pathways to Prosperity: How World Vision Ultra-Poverty Graduation Project is Transforming Lives
“My mother was a pillar of wisdom to my family and a pathway to help us break through extreme poverty after she was recruited in World Vision’s Ultra-Poor Graduation Project here in Kananga Zone.” Patrick Makumbi fondly remembers her mother’s contribution to his family’s livelihood resilience.
It all started with an elderly woman named Eliya Kamalamba moving from her village in Mwiniluga at age 85. Eliya needed the support of her family more than ever, as she found herself in a situation where she could no longer support her livelihood. Patrick, and his wife, Malizuze, welcomed Eliya into their home, despite their struggles.
